I was impressed with our meeting. There was only one thing I wanted to do that got the "no one has ever asked that before but I don't think it will be a problem" response.
So you don't have to go back and look at the prior post...
DH and I went on an Alaskan cruise and both loved it. Our favorite part was where the ship goes through a fiord and you look at icebergs and a glacier. I took many amazing photos and the one in my siggy is one that I really liked.
If you ever get a chance to go to Alaska, go. It's beautiful. We also really like cruising and eating yummy food for a week straight.
How neat! We're going on a cruise this summer to the Grand Caymen Islands, Jamaica, and Mexico...Alaska might have to be our next one! Were the waters really rough? What port did you leave from?
For Alaska, we did a round trip out of Seattle on the Star Princess.
We have also cruised out of Galveston.
Are you going on the Conquest? We did the Grand Caymen/Jamaica/Cozumel cruise on Royal Caribbean back when they had a ship out of Galveston. We had a lot of fun going to those places--I especially liked Tuluum (Mayan ruins near Cozumel).
As to waters being rough--For Alaska we were on a really big ship. I barely felt any movement. The Caribbean cruises we have been on were on smaller ships. If the seas are rough, you can feel some rocking and rolling, but Bonine (over the counter motion sickness med) helped. It was really interesting watching the ship's dancers do shows while the boat was in rough seas.
If you are prone to motion sickness, rough waters might be a problem. If you are on a really big ship, you won't feel as much movement. Also, try to get a cabin mid-ship on the middle of the level (less movement). Lying down helps if you do have issues with feeling ill.
Definitely bring bonine and the pressure point bracelets if you think you may be motion sick. You can also get a prescription patch to wear behind your ear, but that does require a doctor's visit. Those--as well as the oral medication--can make you sleepy though.
Oh, I'm a little jealous of your cruise! I'm trying to convince DH that a cruise will be a great first family vacation once LO is old enough to go.
Alaska was a bit expensive, though. Much pricier than the Caribbean since we had to pay for flights, a night in hotel, and more expensive excursions. DH loved Alaska so much that he was planning our next Alaskan cruise before we even got off the ship!

Good, I'm so glad!
Dr. T has always been SO wonderful with Will.
I must have missed your reply - I'll go back and read it. It's such a pretty photo...I'd love to go to Alaska someday.
