Trying to Get Pregnant

Dr. Questions....

Good afternoon ladies. My DH and I just started TTC last month. By chance I have my yearly exam tomorrow. Besides telling the Doc I am off BCP's now, is there anything else I should be asking? I feel like it?s a good time to be asking questions but I don't think I have any. When something comes up, most of the time you ladies have pretty good answers!! I read the ?Checklist: Preconception Checkup Questions? article but is there anything else that?s important to also ask?? Thanks!!!

Re: Dr. Questions....

  • Not really! They will likely just tell you to start taking pre-natal vitamins. If you have any specific questions, make sure to write them down or you might forget while you're there. (For example, are there certain medications you are concerned about, or do you have any history of problems with menstruation you want to ask about, etc).

  • As I've said in other questions of this nature (the search function will save you a lot of time btw) that if you have any pre-existing conditions such as diabetes, high BP/cholesterol that you might want to ask them about getting tested to make sure you've got that under control before you conceive. Other than that the doc will tell you to take your PNV (prenatal vitamin) and check back in a year if you aren't KU. Good luck.
  • Honestly, does this question have to be asked every single day?  Try searching old posts to find your answer.
