We took DD in for a tooth ache and it turns out is a canker sore. I've never had one before. The dentist said it was probably stress related? Ummm, how can DD be stressed at 6? Maybe she was worried about DS's surgury on Monday. She is also very attached to me and does NOT like going anywhere without me. Last weekend she went to Dallas with out me and was upset by the end of the day. She was only gone one night. Could that cause her to develop a canker sore?
Re: Canker Sore?
Probably so. I get them a lot. Yes, they are stress related! I tend to stress myself out over everything. They hurt so bad and she probably doesn't want to eat a whole lot. Gargle with salt water, orajel on the sore, and just wait a week or longer for it to heal. They suck!!
I have always gotten them from stress even when I was a kid. My dad gets them the size of nickles, absolutely terrible.
They make this product called Gly oxide. It's in a white bottle. It doesn't taste terrible so your DD might not resist it like other things. It does take a bit longer to work but it does work.
I also use Listerine when I get them and that helps a lot and usually clears it up in a few days. It's painful if they are big but it really does work.
