RE recs

Hi ladies. I usually post on the other DC board, but I think I may need your help for this one.

I think it's time for us to talk to an RE and see about some testing, so I was wondering if any of you had good experiences with any particular one. Preferably, someone in NoVA.

no personal reference but a lot of ladies on this board love Shady Grove, I think they are all over the DC area

I went to Shady Grove Annandale.  I had Dr. Garde.  I also saw Dr. Saffan and Dr. Levens. 

I think they were all good.  Dr. Saffan was a bit frank at times - but he is the one who did my IUI - and it worked - so I can't complain.  Dr. Garde was very compassionate and approachable.  Dr. Levens was brand new - and I only saw him once - but he was very reassuring.  A lot of people seem to really like Dr. Greenhouse.

Honestly, no matter who you pick, you will rotate through the doctors depending on who is there that day.  I found the DC Urban Mom Forums really helpful for getting honest feedback on the doctors - since the forums are anonymous.  But, in general, they decide their treatment plans as a group and you will see multiple doctors no matter what.

Shady Grove lover here too!! I went to Dr. Widra in DC but had visited the VA office for monitoring on the weekends and they were very nice. I owe them the world because without them, I would have not had my beautiful 4 year old girl.

 

Stay away from Dominion Fertility. Their facilities are old, the whole place made me uncomfortable and the Drs. (especially Dr. DiMattina) are !#$% not to mention, I had a very easy case (not issues with quality, just scar tissue that needed IVF to bypass it) Ugh, brings back such bad memories. Anyway, I digress, go with SG.

 and they couldn?t even figure it out. I went right to SG and was pregnant on the first and only try with IVF (using only one embryo).

I highly recommend Shady Grove.  I went to the Leesburg office but also had to go to Annandale a couple times when my cycle days fell on a weekend.

I also went to SGF at one point.  We were able to get PG on our own, but they helped in so many ways.  The nurses are very compassionate and helped me understand my body.

I went to Shady Grove in Annandale as well. I loved it and could never speak highly enough about them.

I saw Dr. Greenhouse and he was great!  I emailed him on a Sunday fully expecting him to email me later in the week, and he responded that night!

Thank you very much for all the recs.  It was a really difficult realization that something may be wrong, but seeing that you guys had such wonderful outcomes gives me hope.

Another vote for Shady Grove.  It's a fantastic practice - professional, organized, and they have high success rates.

I used Dr. Abbasi from Columbia Fertility Associates.  A very small office with personal service.  I would highly recommend them.
