Just thought I'd get a sense of how many strollers everyone has for X number of children. DH and I have learned we will be having a second in the fall and have been planning our transport strategy for our soon-to-be 2 under 2 situation. So far we've come up with a total of 5 strollers for 2 children. Keep in mind the initial ones were obtained when we thought it would just be one child for awhile, and had we known we'd be adding to the family so soon after #1, we would have planned on a baby jogger city select or another type that would have allowed for easy expansion.
Our issue is that we have different strollers for different needs in different situations. Our lineup looks like the following:
- Bugaboo Bee. Literally the queen bee of my fleet. Stays in my car and is considered my main all purpose stroller.
- Maclaren Triumph. The single umbrella that stays in DH's car.
- The BOB. The single jogger for neighborhood walks/jogs/outdoor off road adventures. Stays in garage but can be folded and put in back of our SUV if we are going somewhere like a trail or something.
- The double Maclaren Twin Traveller. Will stay in my car for when #2 comes and I need to go somewhere with both babies. Can accommodate a newborn and my DS.
- The Schwinn double jogger. The big workhorse side-by-side double jogger for neighborhood walks/jogs/outdoor off road adventures. Stays in garage but can be folded and put in back of our SUV if we are going somewhere like a trail or something.
How many do you all have and what is your situation?
Re: How many strollers do you have?
What a lineup!!! We are expecting our first so we are not in your situation, but so far here is our lineup:
- Snap and Go to use with our Chicco carseat as our lightweight keep-in-car type stroller
- Baby Jogger select - to use on family trips/walks/etc
- We are also looking at getting a MacLaren lightweight stroller for when he grows out of his carseat and we can't use the snap and go anymore.
I have three, but that was before ds.
I have the one that came with my travel system. I never use it though and it's at my mil for her to use.
Peg Perego P3, ds has taken over this stroller as I can put the car seat in it.
and a maclaren quest. I wanted a light weight stroller for dd as we travel a lot.
I also just bought the baby jogger city select, so I will soon have 4.
I plan to get the Baby Jogger City Select (expecting #2, DD is 8 years old). We plan on having #3 soon after this one and I liked that the City Select can be a double later on.
I almost bought (and still considering) the Kate Spade Maclaren that is on sale on Gilt.com, but going back and forth if I will need it. Did not think until now about having a stroller for DH's car. Hmmm....
Do I need to spend the money now? Should I wait and get an "umbrella" type stroller later? Should I use the City Select now and wait until #2 to get a double Maclaren?
I am not sure....I don't want to waste money frivorously but also want to be practical and maks sure I have my bases covered.
Thoughts?
I will most likely only be using the city select as if I only have one child with me I can make it a single. I don't think my husband will be going out with two kids by himself. He's not that talented
. Most the time if he takes dd anywhere a cart is involved so there is no need for a stroller. But if he did need one he could always take one we already have.
We have two: Baby Jogger City Classic and Peg Perego Si. We use the Baby Jogger for outdoor walks/parks/beach/trails, and the PP Si for indoor trips like the mall, aquarium, museums, etc. We also travel with the Si.
We're not sure if we're going to have another LO, but both the Baby Jogger and the Si can be used with our Graco SnugRide infant seat, so we'd only need to get a double stroller if/when that happens.
Wow lady, that's a lot of strollers!
I have 2 for now.
The UppaBaby for everything (had the carseat adapter, so no need for a Snap N Go) and a Kolocraft umbrella stroller for the airport. When we have #2 we'll get the Uppa PiggyBack for DS to stand and ride, but if that doesn't work well I'll look for a used City Mini Double.
A possibility was born the day you were born and will live as long as you live.
We'll have a newborn and a three year old who is no longer enamored with strollers, so we eschewed the idea of any doubles and therefore we now have:
Maclaren Snap-n-go (for Chicco Keyfit)
Valco Runabout (with jumpseat for toddler)
Baby Jogger City Mini Single (with buggy board for toddler)

snap and go - for the first few months and mainly just for things like runs to doctor's appts, etc.
city classic - our everyday stroller, for walking around our neighborhood (so mostly paved sidewalks, but definitely some bumpier terrain, not jogging, though)
maclaren triumph - for traveling, whether it's OOT to visit my parents, or for taking on the train/bus, or taking somewhere we will be walking indoors (like a mall, even though i haven't been to an actual "mall" in years, hah)
We are getting the City Mini with carseat adapter
We picked up a used Kolocraft Snap and Go
Getting a Maclaren Volo for our second car
My friend is giving us 2 cheapie umbrella strollers to leave at the Gparents homes.
Haha, your mall comment made me laugh. I go to the mall about once every few months, yet the thought of being at a mall with some freakin' huge honking heavy stroller scares me to death!
Graco travel system, and a $15 umbrella stroller from WalMart. It's been all we've needed.
I considered a double stroller when we got pregnant with #2, and never got around to it. Now that DS is older with #3 on the way, I plan to just utilize a sling/bjorn for DD and put DS in the stroller, or put them both in the wagon when needed.
My Blog
My husband is obsessed with strollers! Our lineup is:
Bugaboo Camelion
Quinny Buzz 4 (to keep at grandparents house)
Maclaren Quest -Lulu Guiness from Gilt.com
BOB revolution
Graco Snap n Go - I only used it a month for the carseat mostly for quick outings like doctor
Bugaboo Frog - main stroller, use it 98% of the time
Combi EX - lightweight stroller, use it for quick trips
i have 3.
graco stroller that came with my car seat.
Jeep jogger-since i live/work on a farm i needed a big wheeled stroller to get around off road(i might sell this since i want to get the City Select anyway)
Chicco Liteway- i love it! and will keep it for anything.
I'm def going to get a double stroller and most likely will get the Baby Jogger City Select!
We have a BOB, Mclaren ( cant remember the model) and Peg Perego that matches the infant seat (its a piece of cr*p). The BOB is our main stroller followed by the Maclaren.. the Peg Perego is gathering dust in the garage. We might be getting my cousins Bugaboo as well. We have a 2 1/2 yr old ds and #2 on the way in Nov. Yes I am obsessed with strollers!
If we get a double stroller we will rent a BOB from my cousins baby gear rental company.. I refuse to by another stroller as we bought the single BOB the week before I got my bfp.
We have bought one - the Bugaboo Bee
Hopefully that is all we will need : )
