We bought a Baby Einstein crib soother thingy that hangs on the edge of the crib. It has a little scene that goes by sorta like a TV and it plays music/crickets. I actually found that it doesn't really soothe her when she's upset, and distracts her from sleep. But that may just be Baby A and how she is.
We don't have anything. I think it's important for her to learn that the crib is for sleeping, not for playing/being entertained. If she's awake enough to play with something, I won't have her in the crib. Likewise, if it's nap/nighttime, similar to CJ, having something in there would only distract her from sleep.
We have a mirror that has a few things that dangle from it and it he hits it or pulls it just right it lights up. I don't know the brand but we got it at BRU. We got the mirror b/c he had one in his crib at daycare and loved it, but he doesn't play with it too much at home.
For a long time we didn't have anything in the crib, but a while back we hung up his FP Ocean Wonders Aquarium and he loves it. He doesn't always play with it and we don't take it when we travel, so he can definitely fall asleep without it. He mostly plays with it when he wakes up in the morning before he's fully awake.
Pretty much word for word this. DS loves playing with this thing when he wakes up! Thanks for reminding me I need to change the batteries - I keep hearing my poor kiddo trying to get it to work in the mornings (the batteries are dead) but I keep forgetting to replace them!
We have the soothing seahorse thingy (sorry, I'm on my phone so no link) and a small tag blanket. I'm not opposed to adding more "toys" when she gets older, but at this point in her life she's really still learning how to sleep so I don't want to distract her too much.

We operate under the same philosophy. Toys = play. Crib = sleep.
ETA: Abby has a lovey, MoMo - but I don't consider comfort objects toys.
We used a musical sea turtle thingy with Leo for awhile - it seemed like it helped him transition from awake to sleep pretty well. We took it out when he was about a year old. At that point he started sleeping with blankies and we noticed that he really liked to play with those when he woke up. Now we have several in there. They don't keep him up at night, but they do entertain him in the morning for awhile after he wakes up, so DH can take a shower and I can sleep in
We have two small stuffed animals in there and his lovey. He usually uses the monkey stuffed animal as a pillow at night and then holds his lovey in one hand and the other stuffed animal in the other. When he wakes up, I can hear him talking to the animals over the monitor...so they're "toys" in that sense, but I also think they're sleep objects for him as well.
We have the fisher price aquarium crib soother too. DD doesn't use it as a toy though she uses it as a soother, turns it on to help her back to sleep. It has bubbles and some music. I used to play it while we rocked so maybe that helped her make the association that it was a soother...
