3rd Trimester

Shortness of breath and braxton-hicks?

Anyone feel like they can't breathe when they're getting BH's?  I've had BH's since about 14 weeks but I seem to have them all the time now.  Today they have been particularly strong, sometimes to where I can't catch my breath.  Anyone else?  I never got BH's with my first pregnancy so this is all new. :)

  • I often have a harder time breathing with BH.

  • Yeah they kind of take my breath away when I get them too. Its weird!
  • In the last couple of weeks I've started having this.  My braxton hicks have become more intense and with it I've had trouble catching my breath during them.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • Yeah, actually - my first warning is shortness of breath. Then the BH. Weird.

  • YUP!  Especially if I am sitting down!
  • I asked my Dr about that and he said it was a stronger contraction, the farther along you get they will get more intense.

  • I feel the shortness of breath and that's my first clue I'm having BH.  It kinda makes me feel like I'm having an anxiety attack, although I've never had one, so who knows.
  • Definitely! I feel like someone is actually choking me! It's freaky.
