I'm pretty sure I'm getting a Kindle pretty soon, and I'm looking forward to downloading everything I can get my hands on. Any suggestions? What are you reading right now?

I'm still trying to read Outlander. I don't want to give up on it because I've heard such great things about it from so many people, but I've been carrying it in my purse for about a month and I'm still only about 100 pages in.
Right now I'm reading A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon (part of the Outlander series). It's a GREAT but long series. Highly recommend it. Next up I'd like to pick up one of the Chelsea Handler books.
Currently reading The Swan Thieves. Long book and sometimes slow moving but so far so good. It's got some psychology, some art history, set both in the present and 1800s following the story of an artist who goes nuts (so far anyway).
9/15/14 - Our first son born thanks to donor eggs at RBA after 7 failed own egg IVF cycles.
Sigh...I gave in to the whole Twilight saga. I just finished Twilight and now I'm on to New Moon. I'm reading the books first before I watch the movies (I've heard the movies are horrible). But the books are good!

People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, I have read 2 of her other books and loved them.
This one is about a woman who is restoring an ancient Jewish book, and while restoring it she uncovers little clues to the places and people who have owned the book over the centuries, so it then reverts to stories about those people. I love historical fiction and this one is great blend of past and present.

I hear you on this, I've tried reading it twice now. I tried the second time because I hear from so many ladies here how great it is. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.

"The Waste Lands" by Stephen King. It is the third book in the Dark Tower series.
Have you ever checked out the Nest Book Club board?
I LOVE the Dark Tower series . Ofcourse when I read it only the first 4 books were finished & there was a BIG gap before he started writing the 5th book, so I had to wait 6-years to see what happened! No spoilers, but I will say I was a little disappointed in the end.
OP, have you checked your local library? Mine lets you check out e-books and you can download them directly to whatever device you have (including smart phones & computer).

I guess you could say it is a time-travelling romance. It is about a woman who is transported back in time to medeival Scotland and is torn between her husband in real time and another in the older times.
Someone who has read it could probably explain way better than I could.

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King. I'm not that far into it so I can't give a rec one way or the other.
DH and I listened to it on audio book a few years ago and we really liked it. I think Anne Heche was the one who read it and she did a great job. It's not a typical Stephen King story to me, but it's really compelling.
DH and I both really enjoyed Under the Dome by SK too. It was very good!
Oh, and we're huge Dark Tower people too. I just finished re-reading Waste Lands, but I can't read Wizard and Glass again right now. It's a great book, but I get all emotional when I read it!

I read this a really long time ago when I was still in High School. From what I remember I thought it was good. When I was at half price books the other day they actually had a graphic novel of it.

We have a long flight coming up soon and I really want to get into the Dark Tower series!
I love my Kindle! Best present I have ever gotten. I just got done reading The Apothecary's Daughter and I thought it was really good. I love books that are set in the 19th century, and it was a free download. Actually, a lot that are on the Top Sellers list are free. I always check that out before I buy.

So far, I am loving it. I flew through the first two books, I had read The Gunslinger about ten years ago, but never continued on with the series, which is strange because I am a hardcore Stephen King fan. My husband thinks the Dark Tower series is his best work.

Nothing too exciting-I'm reading both "Nourishing Traditions" and "Silent Knife" - both nonfiction. No time for reading for pleasure these days! I always loved Janet Evanovich for a good read, though. The Stephanie Plum novels are great!

I
my Kindle!
I just finished "Divine Misdemeanors" by Laurel K Hamilton (soo much better than the last one in this series).
I'm starting "Atlantis Redeemed" by Alyssa Day during lunch and I have "Hallowed Circle" by Linda Robertson lined up after that.
I am an avid reader and read all genres, these just happen to be on my immediate book shelf.
Hmm... this doesn't sound very fun!

Yay for everyone reading the Outlander books! I need to pick up Drums of Autumn soon. I finished Dragonfly in Amber awhile ago.
I'm currently reading "Dog Days" by Jon Katz. My parents gave it to me years ago and I never read it for some reason. I am really enjoying it.
