GD Question

Hi Ladies!

I'm new to the Bump and newly diagnosed with GD! I haven't met with my nutritionist yet (I do that next Monday) but wanted to see if you all had any ideas of how to get your fasting number down. Mine is higher than it should be. Any good ideas for night time snacks? Thanks so much in advance!

  • My fasting number only came down with insulin.  I am no help, sorry.

  • zero carbs and only protein (nuts) at night is the only thing that worked for me.

  • My nutritionist said the perfect snack was 6 saltines with a tbsp of peanut butter and 8oz of skim milk.  But it's different for everyone, so you'll have to try out different combinations.

  • You can do a high protein snack right before bedtime.  That helped my fasting number.
