WDYT: Miley as guest mentor on AI

:::puke:::

I think she's far from the level of talent that is usually chosen to mentor, and can't imagine what great advice she will have.

FWIW, I'm not really a fan of Idol....i was maybe the first couple seasons, but not now, so in the whole scheme of life, I don't care - it was just newsworthy this morning on our local Fox channel.

Re: WDYT: Miley as guest mentor on AI

  • considering Simon would probably call her "hideous" if she were to try out for Idol, no, I don't think she should be a mentor. Honestly, that girl just can't sing.  Even on the radio "cleaned up" versions of her songs - she just sounds terrible.
  • I'm going to get flamed for this but I don't give a sh*t today. I really wish people would back the f*ck up off this girl. When it comes down to it she is an entertainer & she knows how to perform and how to sell music. She knows what it's like to be in the industry (obviously grew up in/around it) and that's what these people are obviously trying to attain. I know people get all worked up w/her being "too grown" and too "sexy" and/or think she's a bad role model but you know what? Maybe parents should teach their kids not to idolize celebs and how to seperate reality from fiction/entertainment. I think she can actually give the wannabes some good advice and insight. I also think AI sucks ass and really haven't watched since like 2004. It's passe' and time for them to move on. Now, excuse me while I go listen to "Party in the USA."

  • I was reading about that and thought it was hilarious. BUT they did mention how maybe they are doing it on purpose, with her a Kesha or whatever on the show to make the people they have look amazing. I dont think she would be able to give good vocal advice, but if they ask how to sell your product, she would know.
  • I agree with belle204.  I think she'll have a lot to offer since she's been in and around the business, plus the fact that she is young (as are a lot of the contestants on AI).
  • I can't stand her speaking voice.  She sounds like a man.  I don't know much about her singing voice, but I hate listening to her talk!
