Warner's birthday is this coming Saturday and I went by Party City this morning to pick up party hats and a little banner for him. (We're not having a real party, just a small family get together, but I still want it to be kind of festive for him
)
And I actually started crying when I was looking at all the "1st birthday" stuff. For real--tears, stifled sobs...I felt dumb. I don't really cry and definitely not in public. But it just hit me like a ton of bricks that my baby is not actually a baby anymore. I tried to keep it together while checking out, but I'm sure that the cashier thought I was mental.

Re: embarrassed...
Awwww! I can totally relate! Where did the last year go??
I totally teared up yesterday before the party. I think it is normal (well, at least for the two of us).
Just reading your post gives me the shivers...I think I will be in your shoes in 7 months. I am dreading the first tooth - to me that means he is more a little boy than a baby...
I am right there with you. I have started making plans for DD's birthday in June and it makes me teary-eyed just thinking about it. I'm working on a DVD slideshow and when I look at all the old photos and videos, I think, where has the time gone.
Well, happy almost 1 birthday Warner! Also, what a cute siggy.
DD1 9.24.06
DS 7.1.08

DD2 4.7.12
I think it's totally normal!
I cried the 1st time I read "I'm a big sister" to DD (but I'll blame that on pregnancy hormones).
I can't believe all the b-days this month (incl. mine, already passed), I swear I know more people w/ March b-days than any other month!
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
I had to go back to Labor and Delivery yesterday for a Rhogam injection. I started getting teary eyed in the waiting room, thinking about the last time I was there and how my "baby" is now a little boy.
It isn't fair how quickly it all goes by!
It gets even better with age... my daughter has turned into quite the ham. And she even manages to crack me up when she's sassing me
I can commisserate, but only for a fleeting second... you'll see it with Warner soon enough ;-)
