Lovenox as part of IVF protocol?

My RE had me start Lovenox injections as part of my IVF protocol.  Is this typical?  My previous RE said I would start with it when/if I got KU, but I never heard of starting it on day 3 until I started with a new RE (my doc left the practice so I got a sub).  Has anyone else done this?

I took it during my fresh cycle and FET.  I tested positive for antiphospholipid antibodies (clotting disorder associated with endometriosis), so was on it from the start of stims through my miscarriage/negative FET.  Do you have a clotting disorder?  I think some clotting disorders don't require treatment until a positive pregnancy test and others are better treated from the start of stims.

Yes, I was diagnosed with both copies of MTHFR.

I did too starting at CD 3 on my IVF cycle. I have the APA Annexin V

After MC's and CP's my RE had me start taking it with my last IUI. I didnt know I had a clotting disorder until I had BW done when I went to the ER with a DVT. My OB had done BW and said everything was fine. as far as Im concerned it cant really hurt, can help. You just have to be careful on it, if you cut yourself you will bleed - a lot, and you bruise easily on it. My body is covered with dog toenail bruises. That paired with the weight gain, bloat and circle of bruises around the bellybutton, Im a real sight!

I think I started mine the day after my egg retrieval and have been on it every day since.

I'm homozygous for Factor V Leiden and heterozygous for MTHFR.  My old RE had me start Lovenox the day after ER.  My new RE is much more cautious and had me start it with my stims, then take a 2 day break right before and after ER.  

I'll be on a blood thinner until 8 wks post partum (Lovenox until about 33w, Heparin until delivery, and likely Coumadin after delivery).  In fact, my peri more than doubled my dose from 40 mg 1x/day to 50 mg 2x/day because of my FVL.
