When does the realization that you are having twins actually set in??

I have two of everything all over the house, and two moving bumps that are very evident on my abdomen, and still... it doesn't seem like there are REALLY going to be two babies here at any time in the next couple of weeks.  Is this normal?

yup. they just didn't seem real at all to me, not even after they were born. it's just so surreal!

It's totally normal! I have my three babies - they are 5 months old - and I still look at them and can't believe that I have three babies! It's a total life changing experience, and it is so amazing and such a miracle. Just think you are bringing two beautiful lives into this world. It's hard to believe!

Same here!  I still look at them and cant imagine that I actually had two babies in my stomach.  I dont even know how they fit.  And 9mths later it is still funny to me that there are two of them.  But we are having so much fun.

My girls are more than six months old and I *still* don't feel like it has fully sunk in.  I mean, overall it feels very normal--but from time to time I will walk into the room and see the two of them sleeping/playing/sitting/whatevering together and I just stand there thinking "Two...we really had two."  I kind of wonder if it EVER really sinks in...but I guess part of me hopes it never does.

Agreed! For me it was probably a few months after they were born before it really sank in!

I break out laughing occasionally when I think about it, as if I just found out all over again.  It really is unbelievable!

DH and I still look at each other and say OMG there are 2 LOs sleeping right now...we have TWO babies!!!

sometimes i still whisper to myself, "two babies," and get all giggly thinking about them.  much of the time it really is twice the cuteness.

um yeah - my boys are 15 months and sometimes it's STILL not real! LOL!
