Make the cat stop eatting pacifiers!!!

Ok so we have 3 cats and a dog. 2 of the cats are older and belongs to my brother and my SIL before we all moved in together as well as the dog. A year ago I decided I wanted a kitten (ya oh boy) and I'm not sure why but he now thinks he is a dog. He eats crocs (loveeees them and will climb hanging clothes in the closet to get to crocs on top shelf) and keeps eatting the babies pacifiers.

It started when we were using the gum drop ones and the dog got to one, totally expected and it was my fault as it was out. Well the cat also got a taste of that and loved it. So I put another gum drop one up on the counter on top of shelves to keep from dog, not thinking the cat would take it. He did, and chewed it off again. Then we switched to mam pacifiers... He loves these more. Last week he got stuck in my bedroom alone and I had an extra pacifier in the babies craddle (empty the baby was with me) and he found it and ate it.

Well last night at 4am when I went to the babies room to feed and change him I must not have closed my bedroom door well enough and the cat got in. Jumped just in the craddle and took another pacifier and ran downstairs. I found it this morning downstairs.

*sigh*. At first it was a tad funny. Now its just getting expensive. It also didnt help that I was already stressed and sad about returning to work today and leaving LO at daycare for the first time.

  • thats funny! my cat eats my flip flops... and pretty much everything else... but not pacifiers... my dog on the other hand LOVES the pacifiers. he ate her favorite one a few days ago and it was a disaster!! she wouldnt take any other one. i wish he ate the ones she refuses to take! but GL! i started using just one at a time and putting the others up somewhere the dog cant get it and hooking the paci to her with a  pacifier keeper. maybe that will help.

  • One of our dogs has eaten 2 pacifiers now.  I've been trying to be more careful about leaving them on/in something he can't get to.  Thankfully the cat hasn't shown any interest in them yet.

Both dogs and the cat love ear plugs though.  I can't count how many we've lost due to the little beasts, but at least they're cheap!

  • I have to be much more careful even though I have really tried too. I have a set of clear drawers for the baby stuff and one for pacifiers. But I like having one within reach too just in case. Luckily when he has it in his month or even when it falls out and is on his lap in swing the cat has shown no interest.

I love our animals but sometimes its just the last straw hehe

They're spiteful little buggers. One of my pugs likes to eat the parts to my breast pump. I left a bottle of milk that I had just pumped out on the coffee table, with the shield still attached. I ran upstairs for a few minutes, and when I came downstairs she had totally destroyed it. This is the second time she's done it, and I don't get the fascination at all.
