Toddler Backpack

I am going to get Leo a backpack to wear/carry around. He has an OT that comes for his torticollis - she noticed that he seems to really like "heavy work" (like rearranging my furniture, lol) and thought that wearing a backpack with weights in it might give him some of the sensory input he's craving so he'll stop flinging himself onto the floor and banging his head into things.

Anyway, does anyone have that monkey backpack/leash? Is there actually room to put stuff into the backpack or is it just there to look cute?

If you were getting a backpack for this reason, would you pick something like the monkey leash so that if in the future you might want the leash you'd have it, or would you pick something like this ridiculously cute puppy backpack: https://www.babyearth.com/skip-hop-zoo-pack-backpack.html

That backpack is super cute.  DD has a nylon backpack with a main compartment and a smaller compartment on the front, like the one you linked.  She loves to play around with it and can get into it easily. So, I'd get that one.  I haven't seen the leash type close up, so I don't know how much stuff it can carry.  I did see a 15 month old with one on the other day, though and he LOVED that thing!

  • That puppy backpack is adorable!  We have a monkey backpack/leash - you could probably fit a couple of weights in it, but that's it. It does not have a lot of room.  :::backpack, backpack, loaded up with things and knick knacks too, anything that you might need I got inside for you::: :)

lol, I've had that song playing in my head all morning now!

I think I'm going to just get the puppy one. I can't resist that much cute!

  • We have the monkey/leash one and its much smaller than that cute puppy one. For what you need it for, i'd recommend the puppy one. The leash is handy on the monkey one, but i don't think you'd be able to get too much weight in the backpack part.
