I have my appointment with the diabetes educator on Wednesday, and it's in the maternal fetal medicine office of my hospital, where they also do the ultrasounds. When I called to get my diabetes appt, they said my doctor has also ordered another ultrasound. Is this standard? I assume it's to check the baby's size, but I would've thought they'd wait on that? I was totally not expecting another change to see LO until MAYBE a couple of weeks before my EDD so I'm excited to see her again, but... I can't help but worry it's because they think something is wrong...

Re: GD- Ultrasound now?
It just depends on your docs. I think it's pretty normal to have an extra u/s or two with GD. You might have weekly or bi-weekly NSTs at some point too. They just want to make sure that the GD isn't causing any issues and see how big the baby is measuring. I wouldn't worry about it.
My Ob hasn't done anything extra so far. I'll have an NST at my next appt on the 31st (I'll be 36 weeks), but that's it so far.
It is normal...I have one scheduled at 35 weeks. It's to check baby's size, amnitoic fluid etc. You will probably also have Non Stress Tests too...all par for the course.
Best of luck and enjoy seeing your LO..they change so much since the last time you saw them.
Yay! Glad to know it's standard and now I'm just getting excited about getting a peek! Here's hoping they don't tell me she already weighs 9 lbs or something
This. I have type1, and have to go in for monthly U/S, and after 34 wks they will be biweekly with my NST's
