Standing up in crib and sleep?

what a big PITA it is now when lo wakes up and stands in the crib when in the past he would maybe fuss for a few minutes and fall asleep.  This whole standing thing makes things a bit more difficult. Lately he will be asleep in our arms and we will place him in his crib and then amazingly he flips over onto his belly and starts crawling to the sides of his crib to pull himself up.  I hope this is just a phase as this is a new skill he just learned.

If this happens with you and your lo what do you do when they really need to sleep?  do you let them stand up and fuss?

Re: Standing up in crib and sleep?

  • DS had finally started STTN right before he truly figured out how to crawl and pull himself up (about a month ago), and since then STTN has stopped. He is now up no fewer then 3x for a long period of time each waking. I go in and he is standing there crying. I lay him back down give him his paci and walk out. Yes, I've been letting him cry more. I wait about 10 min once he starts to see if he'll put himself back to sleep (like he used to) and go in to lay him down and walk out and will wait another 10 min. If I check for a fever, and to make sure he hasn't pooped, then it's just something he's going to have to work out/figure out.
