Re: When to start mini pill??

  • I had my first doctors appt at 7 weeks pp.  They gave me the prescription then; of course when I took it to be filled that Saturday, my pharmacy didnt have it in stock til Monday--- I called my Dr. on Monday morning and they said to just wait til the next Sunday to start it.  Hope that helps!

thank you...did you notice weight gain as a side effect?  trying not to sound vain, but all this work to get the baby weight off and i dont want anything making it harder.

  • No, I didn't notice any weight gain.  I took the mini-pill after my first pg for about a year and kept losing more and more weight with BFing and time.  I got below my pre-pg weight (I wasn't exercising or dieting).

I started yesterday and was told to wait 2 weeks until I was considered protected.  Maybe my OB just likes to be extra safe?

I was going by the package insert.  Not having sex is even safer!
