Pregnant after 35

How did you feel at 13 weeks?

I'm at 13 weeks & the nausea is gone, but now I don't feel pregnant! I think I'm going to be a nervous Nelly through this whole pregnancy!   Is it normal to not to feel pregnant for a little while until I start showing? Next U/S will be at week 16.

Thanks.

Me: 42, DH: 43. We are so grateful to have a 2yr old daughter, conceived naturally after 3 miscarriages & no treatments (our Dr. gave us 1 more month to try on our own before advacing to IVF, & we conceived her naturally in January 2010)! Trying since April 2011 without sucess....MD said we were both "fine" & that if it wasn't happening, it was a chromosomal issue. Finally started Follistim 225mcg injections with an Ovidrel trigger November 2012. Bleeding 11 days post Ovidrel on November 25th. Starting the whole lab/Ultrasound/Follistim cycle again on November 27th...

  • Totally, totally normal! I'm 13 weeks today, too and although I haven't had any morning sickness (I consider myself very lucky), I've had a lot of exhaustion & fatigue. It's finally going away, I think. I still have my 2-yr old to chase after, so I'm always a little tired, but I'm starting to be able to stay awake past 9pm. Hooray! It's totally normal for your nausea to go away. Be happy. I'm sure another symptom will pop up soon enough. Hang in there and best of luck!

  • Yes, it's totally normal.  I had several weeks with no symptoms and no bump...it kind of freaked me out! But, the bump grew and new symptoms popped up eventually.  Enjoy the "calm before the storm"!!!
  • Pregnancy #1 first tri was actually a breeze for me. Just a bit of heartburn at night, but nothing Pepcid couldn't fix. I didn't think I was pregnant at all and the move from first tri to second wasn't noticeable at all.

Pregnancy #2 only made it to 9.5 weeks, but I never felt pregnant with that one either.

Pregnancy #3 has not been fun. Heartburn 24x7, bloating so I look like a beached whale, and the gas...oh my, the gas. Plus, I've been nauseated, dizzy and had hot and cold spells. I'm almost 15 weeks now and I still feel terrible. I miss pregnancy #1, but I was also 3 years younger so I miss that youth too.

I didn't really show with clothes on until about 17 weeks with #1. #3 is way more obvious.

  • Totally normal; it's a bit of a "no man's land" - not showing, feeling better = panic!  I'm fortunate to feel movement early because i really didn't show until 20 weeks!  Hang in there - I'm sure your baby is fine and while it's hard, enjoy the "down time" of symptoms.
  • I'm 13 weeks too.  I'm jealous of you though.......I have lots of nausea since week 5 and the vomiting started at week 12.  I'd give anything to feel somewhat normal.

  • I rarely felt nauseous in 1st tri, but I was bloated and extremely tired (yet slept poorly) until week 17-18.
  • Enjoy it if you have no symptoms!

I had a terrible time and 13 weeks was the beginning of my morning sickness and feelng lousy period.

  • Nausea was slowing down, but still there. Don't worry, I am still nervous.
  • I had m/s from week 5 to week 10. At week 10, everything magically disappeared and I didn't feel pregnant at all! No more fatigue, no more m/s, no more sore girls. I was also very worried and went to my 13 week appt with the Dr. scared as can be. Then we saw the bean on the ultrasound and everything was OK. I'm nearing 15 weeks now, and except for the gas and an occasional headache, I'm feeling pretty darn good. Enjoy it!! I hear it only gets worse in the 3rd tri!
  • Thanks for all the responses. I was even more worried today because I've had so much energy & feel great & not pregnant at all. It's very strange after feeling sick every day from about week 6, but I'm glad to hear it's a normal thing for some of us!
