Grrrr, bed rest and trying to learn how to knit...

So a couisin of mine sent me yarn, knitting needles and a link to youtube to teach myself how to knit while I'm stuck in the hospital....

I don't have a lot of patience to begin with but, WTH, I just don't get it.....guess I will waste all afternoon trying to figure this out....which was it's purpose I suppose, to pass the time, but dangit, it pisses me off when I can't figure something out, LOL!

If anyone has any extremely basic step by step directions, please send them over to me!

  • Sorry I don't have any step by step instructions but the volunteer at the hospital had a little song that she used, through the back door, then the gate and jump off jack.  My blanket that I'm knitting looks horrible.  I admit it is time consuming and addicting for me.  I'm almost done with the first ball of yarn and I will be lost after that!  Good luck

  • is there a local yarn/knitting shop near you? if so i would give them a call and see if someone can come over and give you a lesson. the only way i could learn was by example and having someone work with me.

    good luck!

  • Yeah, I think I'm going to have to have someone SHOW me in person, not on YouTube, LOL!

I know one of the nurses knows how and when I have her again will probably have her show me.  I'm thinking the knitting needles my cousin got me may be too big, they are huge!

So we will see how it goes...

I found that looking at directions was difficult to learn how to knit.  I'm the type of learner that needs kinetic and visual help to learn a new skill.  If you know any knitters or have any local yarn shops, try looking into those. Good luck.  I'm a little more than 1/2way done with our baby's blanket, I'm slowGeeked
