anyone elses LO staying awake 5 hours a day? The little guy sleeps usually most of the afternoon but WILL NOT go down for an evening nap then after hes been up for 5 hours or so, hes a mess...crying and can only be consoled by mommy...hes a month old. I know he should be sleeping more than this. I think the only reason he sleeps so well in the afternoon is because we're usually in the car or stroller. then by 10 or 11 when we want to go to bed..i bath, feed and try to put him down and he fights sleep for 30 or more minutes! any advise?

Yup, here's a post I wrote on sleep: https://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/29470977.aspx
Try (escape proof) swaddling and keeping an eye on his awake time.
PS:

THANK YOU, and I love the Baby Whisperer..We cant seem to figure out the E.A.SY. routine though...LO just wont sleep when he should. Its like he catches a second wind after feeding.
Just like adults can catch a 2nd wind, so can babies (which isn't good and can get overtired easily). This is why it is so important to watch their awake times. We are on an EASY routine, but not a strict schedule. Every time she wakes up (either in the morning or after naps) I watch her awake time and put her down for a nap/bedtime based on that, not so much like "her bedtime is promptly at 7 pm".
It has sort of migrated into a predictable routine, where I can guess her nap times and bedtime, but I look more at the clock for awake time, not a strict bedtime or naptime.
