Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Solids strike?

DS had been doing really good with solids since about 5 months. ?He ate all his fruits and veggies (except peas, lol) and ate like a champ. ?The past week or two, he will only eat yogurt, puffs or yogurt melts. ?I keep trying to feed him his other fruits/veggies but he won't eat them. ?So he's only been having breakfast really, since that is when he gets his yogurt. ?I'm not worried about him getting his nutrition, since that comes from BM, but is it normal for babies to go thru food phases like this? ?I really want him to like his veggies again, lol!

  • My DD was so good about eating her puree foods from jars until the last few days. It seems she is no longer interested in being fed purees and wants to self feed herself everything. I'm hoping she'll go back to some purees for a bit longer because I think it is going to be hard to find enough nutritous varied items that I'm comfortable with her self feeding and not choking. Maybe your son is going through something similar.

  • We're having this issue as well. The things I found that help are; I give him some finger foods while feeding the purees (such as sweet potato fries, baked zucchini sticks, pieces of banana). Also, if I mix some formula (or BM) with the veggie puree (I usually have some rice or oatmeal cereal too) he takes it better.
