1st birthday party activities?

I'm curious what everyone did for their child's first birthday party?  We will be a small group of adults (13 of us) - family and close friends, and obviously my daughter who is turning one.  I'm trying to think of some fun things to do that will entertain the adults and get some giggles out of her as well!  So far all I've come up with is 1) blowing bubbles, 2) getting a "Make a Plate" thing for all the adults to draw / write some b-days wishes on... she can eat off of it when she gets older.  Maybe the plate will become an annual tradition?

What did you all do for your adult-attended first birthday parties?

  • I guess we are boring.  We are eating lunch, opening gifts and having cake....then hopefully everyone will leave.  HA!

  • We didn't do much, DD and her olde cousins played, the guys watched a basketball game, the girls ohh and ahhhed over DD for a bit, we had lunch and opened presents - and the DD's cousin's pushed her around the house on her new push car, we had cake and everyone went home.

  • We didn't do anything for the adults. They mostly visited with each other and got a kick out of L eating her cake.
