Does anyone else feel they don't ever buy themselves anything anymore? We have "X" amt set aside each month for clothes and shopping and every month I'm always buying something we need for DS or something that I stumble upon that I can't resist. I almost never buy anything for myself. Does anyone else feel this way?
***I wanted to add that for my birthday my mom took me shopping and she went overboard - bought me tons of clothes and said to me, "I know how it is...once you have a child you neglect getting things for yourself." It was so sweet because, to this day, my mom would rather get stuff for me (and her other children) than for herself. I'm wondering if this is always how it's going to be.
Re: Buying for the baby instead of yourself?
Yep...same here. No new clothes for me ever. Occasionally I do pick up something for DH when I'm shopping for DD.
I was never really a shopper at all. I'm not a clothes horse. I buy stuff for myself maybe MAYBE once a year.
Turns out I'm a maniac when it comes to DD. I have not yet once been able to go to the store for baby stuff we NEED and come out without also getting something I WANT her to have. New clothes. New toys. New gadgets. I'm weak.
I do that too. But sometimes, I try to find something for myself, and just don't like anything or I'm too lazy to really look. I told DH that for my birthday this year, I just want a shopping spree so I can buy clothes/shoes guilt-free.
You have one sweet momma! My mom is super generous, but most of the stuff she buys us is Ethan related lately. It still saves us from having to buy it though.
It's more fun for me now to buy cute things for him.
I bought myself a one-piece bathing suit out of necessity (no one needs to see my PP stomach this summer) and it was the first thing in FOREVER.
Of course when I went, I also bought him about 10 things. Oh well
In my bag: Canon 60D, 50mm 1.4, Tamron 28-75 2.8, 430exii
Before DS, I used to buy new clothes and shoes on a regular basis. Now, it happens very rarely. Even when I do buy something for myself these days, something (or a few somethings) for DS always sneak into my purchase. I can't help myself!
:-)
Married and it feels so good!
