At our 6-month appt., Dr. C basically said that since Ali is doing so well with solid food and we have no history of food allergies, the door is open to all fruits, veggies, etc. Even strawberries. She mentioned that one specifically.

I thought strawberries was one of those no-no-til-one-year foods? Anyone else give strawberries so young? Dr. C patients--did y'all get the same clearance?

Will has had strawberries since ~8 months. I actually didn't realize they were such a "no-no" food until a bunch of ladies on here said that about them. Our pedi said the same thing at our 6 mo. appt, though he didn't mention strawberries by name. If you're comfortable introducing them, just watch her closely for signs of an allergy.

We were told the same thing by our pedi. G has had strawberries and had no problems!

I was also one of the I didn't know strawberries were a no no group. we've never had a problem

Dr. C told us that at LO's 6 mo appointment as well, but I remember her saying he could have them closer to 8 mos, if we wanted to use them as a finger food, but if I wanted to make them into a puree-like thing, then I could give them to him now.

DH gave C strawberries a couple of weeks ago and he didn't have any bad reaction.
