So we had 2 scores of 16.3 in a row, but since he was still breastfeeding like a champ ()he is almost back to his birth weight) and had the appropriate number of wet and dirty diapers, we were told that the biliblanket wasn't needed. It would probably dehydrate him and wouldn't be worth it.
Well, today he has been behaving more like the newborn we left the hospital with and his score was a 14! No more blood work is needed and we won't be back to the doctor until his 2 week visit.
Thanks for all if the great advice in the previous post; it was more helpful than you know.

Re: Update on Evan's jaundice

that's excellent news!!
also, i just want to say that i think it's really wonderful that you have a pedi who encouraged BFing to help with the jaundice. many babies i know who were in a similar position were told they had to have formula, even that BFing was part of the problem. congrats and here's hoping evan is in the clear for good
All of this. I remember being really stressed with Abby's jaundice but so glad my pedi didn't push formula.
