I was just at Target, and not only did they not have it, but the people I asked about it had no clue what I was talking about. The conversation went something like:
Me: Do you know where I'd find falafel mix?
Guy1: Hmm no, what is that for?
Me: Umm, well it's to make falafel...
Guy1: ::looks at me like I'm a nut case::
Guy2: Oh I think it's here ::hands me box of WAFFLE MIX::
Me: No no, like dried ground chick peas..
Anyway, it went on for a few minutes before I gave up. I'm curious now if this is just a really rare thing that most people have never heard of. So do you know what it is?

If life makes you feel awful, try a falafel! YUMMMMM.
I've never made it at home. Do the mixes work well?
I think so, I've only ever made it using a mix though

I could eat a whole thing of hummus in one sitting. Yummmmm.
But I've never had falafel.

omg you haven't lived until you've had hummus. You need to go have some hummus, with pita bread, and report back to us
Yes it's really easy to use too. Just mix with water and fry!
I just made some last week (for the first time), although I've had them at restaurants before. check out this recipe - SUPER easy:

Oh cool, thanks!
This!
BrideinJuly- Hummus is delicious and diet friendly, you can eat it with carrots and celery too. The Sabre brand is the best
I agree! the other stuff is not so good. the archer farms brand at target is good, too.
Yes! I almost burst out laughing right there in the store!
Another thumbs up for hummus! I even use a smear of it in place of mayo on sandwiches.
It's also super-easy and cheap to make at home. I start with this recipe as a foundation and play with it to suit my mood.
I love falafel! They are everywhere in Germany! The Doener Kebab stands, which are on nearly every corner, have them. Wish I could have one now:(.
agree! i bought some HEB brand the other day because it was cheaper, not very good.
and yes I know what a falafel is and have eaten one many times.
LOVE falafel. Yum.
Hummus is super easy to make. I basically put chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic cloves in a blender and hit go. I think some recipes call for olive oil too, but I leave it out to cut the fat a little. Sometimes I roast a red pepper in the toaster oven on broil and throw that in the blender with the rest of it also.
YUM. I love Doener! :9
