DH's best friend is in the Navy and stationed up in Washington. He's being deployed later this year, it was supposed to be in June, so we were planning on going up there for a week or so in May to visit with him before he leaves.

And of course I was hoping to get to meet you and Landon while we were up there!

But now his deployment got pushed up to May, and is driving through to see us on his way to his parents house. He is getting his 10 days off before they start major preparations for deployment. So now we're not going to Seattle anymore

I'm super bummed! Hopefully we will get up there eventually before he gets moved somewhere else. But Seattle is definately on my list of cities I want to see soon. So hopefully it will happen eventually!

Ha sorry! I will definately let you know if we make it up there. DH says we may still go this summer even if his friend isn't there, since we've been looking forward to it.

How far are you from Seattle? Do you know of any good areas we should look for hotels in? Or areas to stay away from? His friend hasn't been up there very long, only a few months, so he wasn't much help in that department when looking where to stay!

I freaking love Seattle.

Stay at the Doubletree downtown.  I think it is called The Polar Bear.  Coolest hotel ever.

I live about 40-50 minutes North of the city. As far as where to stay - it will really depend on what you want to do, and if you plan to rent a car. I'm not entirely familiar with downtown hotels, except that they are expensive and my friend saves a lot of money using priceline for them.
