2nd Trimester

Havent kept food down for about to be 2 days now! HELP?!

Ok so I am 15 weeks today and I was starting to feel a little better last week and then I started feeling really sick and nauseaus again at work on tuesday. Ate a little bit and then yesterday I ate some cheese and crackers and a sandwich came home and ate about half a hamburger and literally had to RUN to the bathroom throwing up everything I had eaten. I was so hungry so I tried to eat again later and the same thing happened. then all night I couldnt sleep bc I felt so terrible. This morning I was sick again throwing up liquids. :(  this never happened to me with my first baby? Is this something I should be concerned about?

  • Umm, I wouldn't be so concerned about it, as long as you can keep liquids down. If you can't keep those down for 24 hours, I would call your doctor.

The same thing happened to me up until last week. I would just have a really crappy week w/food and maybe a few good days here and there. Have you tried Zofran? Hopefully this subsides for you soon!!

  • You poor thing!  Are you sure it's not a stomach bug?  That stuff is really going around.

  • This makes me feel better! I have kept liquids down this morning, I have not tried that, My doc gave me vitamin b55 and doxylamine(sleeping pill) to take both 4 times a day. Somtimes it helps but mostly it doesnt. I actually have a doctors appt in the morning thats the only reason why I havent called him. I have bugged him enough this week bc of Migranes everyday. I think I have worried more with this pregnancy than I did with my first. I guess BC Im getting old! haha. It very well could be a stomach bug I havent even thought about that! Thanks ladies
  • There is a really nasty stomach bug going around. I just had it and my doc said she's seen lots of pregnant women with it lately. I guess we're more likely to get it if its floating around.

She told me not to worry if I couldn't eat, but to make sure I was getting liquids. Gatorade, water, juice...anything you can keep down...and TONS of it. Otherwise, you could start having contractions.

I'd see if it doesn't start to subside soon, and if not, make a doctors appointment.
