***Blondie 6FT***

I've tried both the Medela Harmony (had to use it in the breastmilk study last week) and the Avent Isis Manual pump and I prefer the Avent.  It seemed to get more of the milk out for me.  It was still more time-consuming than my electric pump, but the Avent seemed to be more efficient in getting the milk out, imho.  The Avent does have a few more pieces to clean though, I'm not sure if that's a problem or not.

Good luck!

  • thank you!! i am still on the fence about buying one, because we are weaning, but i am having a hard time letting go :(

but i know i can't drag that dang electric pump around the world with me on a trip! even as a crew member, they run my bag thru an extra time (i'm ok with that, but it's just one more thing to slow me down....)

Blondie- I have a manual pump I bought last year and never used- do you want it?  It's not fancy- I don't remember how much it cost.  I thought I wanted it to relieve engorgement in the mornings, but never even opened the box.  You are welcome to it, just let me know.

  • emer--you are so sweet to offer! i may take you up on that. i know i've just got to make a decision as to whether i want to keep pumping or wean 100%. so hard to think of it like that!
