I have been looking into doulas.  I have found that the ones who are going throught the certification process are much less expensive or even free.  I really wanted one because I wanted to have a very natural, calm ,relaxed birth.  I had my first daughter with no epi so I know I can do it again.  But I'm having twins and my Dr just told me last week that I HAVE to deliver in the OR...even if it's vaginal and they usually make you have an epi just in case.  So now I'm thinking what's the point of a doula if they're going to make me have an epi.  But my Dr, says we can talk about the epi and of course I could refuse it.  I did meet with one doula who would use us as a certification birth and she's willing to do it for free.  I think part of the reason is because then she can say she doula-ed for twins.  Good luck in your search!
