I was looking at DD's Visa and it expires Saturday......... We have not finalized yet waiting for the 6 months which will be Sunday then we have to get paperwork from Canada to finalize in court here hopefully in April. Our fingerprint expire in April also. What if anything do we need to do? I ahve e-mailed both SWs but no one is answering me yet.
Re: Anyone with IA finalized in US???? UPDATE
Does your DD have a Green Card? My kids both had them, so I wasn't worried about visa expiration. Sorry.
We did have to keep an open foster license, which was a PITA because our expired about 2 months prior to finalization and I had to go to a bunch of classes right after I started back to work after maternity leave.
We did not go to the visa interview we were planning to then was called and told not to go............that's another story.
Well everyone says we are OK as long as we do not try to leave the country with her which we have no desire to do until this is all completed. I did find out that the final paperwork has been signed and will be in the snail mail tomorrow.
I was looking at the passport to see when I needed to start e-mailing my Canada SW to get the final paperwork done. She said that she would fax a copy to my lawyer so maybe he can get a court date with that while we wait on the mail. Snail mail takes forever from Canada, about two weeks and I really wait to go to court in April before my son graduates high school and moves out. I want this to be a family affair.
