spinal anethesia for ER

HI Ladies...

I had my ER yesterday, 15 eggs! very exciting fert report later today.

for the anethesia I didn't have the twighlight anethesia, I had a full spinal block.

Have any of you had to have that for your ER, I was completely shocked and overwhelmed to have the spinal.

The good news is its over ..... but didn't know if this had happenned to others.

I have never heard of that before.

Do you have other medical issues that would have prevented a twilight sleep from working?

  • That sounds crazy, I have never heard of them doing that for an ER. I would think it's a risky thing to do for the type of procedure,  but I bet it worked! Did they say they do that with all of their patients?

I was awake for my ER...by the end of it I would have loved a spinal...

  • Wow, I can't believe they gave you that type of anesthesia without telling you ahead of time...did they go over what type of anesthesia you would be getting in the class at your RE's office??  Glad you got so many!

  • I had heart surgery last year.  It was two hours long and even for that I only had twilight anesthesia.
