We have no space in our current apartment for a change table and I'm not planning on buying one since we will not move in to our new place until LO is about 5 months old (I don't want to use a change table once baby starts rolling).
Can you recommend a good waterproof changing pad? I was thinking of getting my mother to make a vinyl cover and stuffing it with a flat pillow/stuffing etc. to make a soft service that is easily cleaned.
Thanks!
Re: What do you use/where do you change baby with no change table?
We had a changing table and literally never used it (except for the storage) so we got rid of it.
It was upstairs and our main living areas are downstairs.. I'm not about to make a special trip up there just to change a diaper.
I keep a basket with diapers, wipes, and a receiving blanket in it and change him on the floor or couch.
When I'm upstairs I change him on our bed.
I will start by saying the changing table is my LO favorite place to be. When she is really fussy I go to her room and put her on the changing table and she settles done. Not sure why she likes it so much. haha
It might be because the changing pad is so soft. I just have the regular changing pad which could easily just sit on the floor somewhere.
I have a friend that has ther master bedroom onthe first floor and she put the pad on the floor in the corner of her room.
I like the colorful pad that someone else recommended because you could easily wipe it done instead of always cleaning the changing pad covers.
I do this often as well as N is sometimes a bit of a thrasher at diaper changes and it's easier to keep a good grip on her on the floor.

We have a changing pad on a dresser upstairs in the nursery, but it only gets used for middle of the night changes.
I just change her on the floor with a blanket and/or a lap pad. I have a small fabric bin with diapers/wipes/etc. that I keep on the floor. Elizabeth now loves to crawl to it and pull out all the diapers, one by one.
We have a small house, and so I'm using the top of a low bookcase as the "changing table". We just put a changing pad on it, and were good to go.
I suppose it's sort of inconvenient to go upstairs every time to change her, but I think of it as my clandestine exercise program...
This
Awesome product! We have 3 all over the place!
It has a decent size drawer for diaper cream and other small stuff. Room for diapers and comes with a nice waterproof pad that you can fold up and store in the caddy. You could also just grab the pad and take it with you if you need one.
Highly recommend it........a must for everyone
Plus......the caddy is easy to carry and move around from room-to-room
Comes in a couple different colors as well
we have this too and love it. We usually change her on the couch. And to be honest, I hardly ever put something under her - unless I know it is a messy diaper. And even then, I usually grab a burp cloth
we have a changing table, and I think I have used it one. But, I do use it as the place for all of her clothes that no longer fit until I can put them in bins and put them in the attic
