3rd Trimester

I feel like I got kicked in the crotch.

I feel like someone kicked me really hard in the crotch.  It's sore.  I never had this with my first LO.  Anyone have this?  I haven't asked my dr yet...but does anyone know what it is?

TY!

  • I've had it for weeks. My doctor said it's my pelvis spreading or something. She told me to sleep with a pillow between my knees.

  • I have this too.  My doc said the same thing.  It's my body spreading out for labor.  I don't remember pain like this in my last two pregnancies and this comes and goes.  I wish it would just go!
  • I have it come and go. I assume it's just discomfort from the baby hanging out down there.

  • I also did not experience it w/ DD but have it all the time w/ LO #2. It hurts. I try sleeping w/ a pillow between my knees but it doesn't seem to help. The days I'm chasing DD around more it seems to hurt more too. :-(

  • This pain started for me last week. I'm planning to ask my ob about it at my appt tomorrow, but from what I've heard, it's just pelvic stretching. The pillow between the knees has NOT worked for me, though.

  • I didn't have it with my first two kids either, so it took me by surprise this time. It hurts so bad that there are days I have a hard time walking. I asked my OB about it and she said it's my pelvis separating to prepare for birth. For some women it gets worse with each additional pregnancy. Sometimes exercise and stretching helps for me, but other times it makes it worse. Using a heating pad when I'm relaxing is pretty helpful.

Mine is worse when I sleep with the pillow between my legs :) With me its better if I sleep with my legs slightly elevated (pillow under feet).
  • Yup--mine started before Christmas (I was 18-19w) and has finally subsided a bit in the last week or so.  I'm hoping it stays away even just a little bit b/c I feel so much better with it gone.

  • I have this too.  Last week it was really bad.  This week it has lessened and I'm hoping it stays that way.
