2nd Trimester

Intelligender?

Anyone here take this?  If so, how were the results?

My coworkers want to start a "gender pool" and they also want me to take this test.  Kind of funny if you ask me, but, I might do it just for fun and to make guessing more interesting.  Currently, most people are convinved I'm having a boy.  Won't find out until April 1st (hopefully!).

Re: Intelligender?

  • Nope, didn't waste my money on it.  We will (hopefully) find out gender next week at the doctor's office.

  • IMO = waste of money

if they want to spend the money.. sure do it.

you have a 50/50 chance just like any other gender predictor.

  • I will say I did take this for FUN!! This is my last pg and I thought it would be interesting to see if it was right or not. However I am waiting on my u/s to plan anything!

  • Even if their 80% accuracy were true (many people will tell you it's 50%) I wouldn't bother.  I was taking progesterone until 2 days ago, and it says that you can't take the test within 2 weeks of that.  At that point I'll be at under a month until my US, so it'd be a big waste of money for me.  The one person I do know that took it, got an incorrect response.

  • My SIL and MIL begged me to take this test. Everyone swore it was going to be a boy and the test said boy...but we found out several weeks ago at our big US that we were having a girl! So it was wrong.

The test is cool to do just for fun of it but I would not paint the baby room based on its results.  The test is not cheap either.

While it was not accurate for us I do know of a few people that it predicted correctly.  I guess either way you have a 50-50 chance of it being right.

  • My coworkers would be pitching in for it.  So, I semi feel obligated to do it - haha.  I agree it has just as good of a chance as any other "test" to determine the sex, but, still a fun thing to do it seems.  Makes it even more interesting if it comes up right!

  • I did it...for fun since this is our last one. Mine was wrong...said boy and I've got a little girl growing in there =)
  • I would say do it! Especially if someone else is buying it for you.  The only bad part about the test is you have to use your fresh morning pee so the test can be a bit tricky at 6:30am.

I did it "for fun" but it was a waste of time and money. My result ended up being orange surrounded by green. Orange = girl, Green = boy....ya. Anyways, I emailed them and sent a pic of my result and they said it looked like a girl result except that it was dark. They sent me a new test for free which was nice of them and it was very clear that it was a girl response...bright orange!

    I'm having a baby boy!

I know I did it for fun, but I won't be doing it with any of my other pregnancies.

  • The makers of the test are smart! Have you heard of the Draino test? Where you mix your urine with Draino and the color determines the gender? It is the same thing, only packaged and sold for almost $40! The possible color outcomes are the same, it is Draino in a cup!

It might be just as fun as taking those quizzes that determine gender, but just don't get your heart set on you result!

( Proofreading and realizing I have an addiction to exclamation points.)

  • Mine said boy and it's a girl! It was def. just for fun too!
  • I did some research on it and it said that all they are basically doing is checking your PH levels. So if you eat something acidic then the test will say "It's a girl" and if you eat something with alkaline then it will say "Boy". I wouldn't waste my money :)
  • I did it for fun after I already knew the gender. It's said boy. I'm having a girl.
  • I took it for fun and it was WRONG.  It was a very clear boy result and I'm having a girl.  No PCOS or progesterone treatments either that would have thrown it...it was just flat wrong.
