I am really struggling with getting DD2 down for a nap while DD1 is awake. DD2 gets tired before DD1 and I don't know how to get her down with out DD1 making too much noise and waking her. I don't trust DD1 in a room by herself and I'm not sure how to do "nap time". Please help!!
Re: Those that have 2 Under 2...Help with naps please!
We've been there too!
Luckily, my boys nap together in the morning. They both go down around 10:30am. This is DS1's one and only nap of the day, and it is DS2's first one.
So when afternoon rolls around, and it is time for DS2 to go down again, the only thing I can do is put DS1 in his crib with some toys/books and turn on some music for him. This seems to work well on most days. He knows I am putting his brother down for a nap and will "be right back".
It usually doesn't take too long for me to put DS2 down. I give him a bottle at that time and then rock him a bit and lay him down. The only days we have trouble are when DS2 takes forever to go to sleep or won't go to sleep. Some days I just give up, and he ends up only having one nap.

DD#1's room is baby proofed and since she's in a twin bed anyways, she has the ability to roam around her room at night/during nap already so we just have DD#1 hanging out playing in her room while we put DD#2 down for a nap in her room. I bring the video monitor in with me so I can peak in on DD#1 while I'm in with DD#2 if I want to make sure she's not getting into "trouble".
Rarely do my kids get to watch TV, but this is defnitely a time where I pull it out. Both my kids take naps at the same time, but while I'm putting DD#2 down, I have DD#1 watch Baby Einstein or Elmo in the next room.
Like PP poster said, everything is baby proofed and she is glued to her seat while the TV is on, so she sits there while I put the baby down and then its her turn to go down for a nap!
