Candi

Hey, what's the name of the baby book you like?  You've mentioned it several times on the board.  TIA!

Re: Candi

  • Are you talking about the Secrets of the Baby Whisperer?

  • I think that may be it.  Did it discuss a method of sleep training at all?
  • Define sleep training.  It talks about the EASY plan and well since Aubrey is following it she naps and sleeps pretty well at night...like right now she is sleeping from 8:30 to 5am no problems...so I will say yes/no IMO.  It's not sleep training as in like Ferber or the No Cry Sleep Solution but it does teach you a method in reading cues and figure out what "kind" of baby( as in their temperment) you have and thus the ultimate end result is a baby who will STTN and be a good napper eventually.  Does that make sense?
  • Yeah it does make sense.  Mitchell has been a good napper and sleeper however lately he's been waking up in the middle of the night.  No crying or fussing, just waking up.  Most times he goes right back to sleep if I give him the paci, but I'm wondering if I should be doing something to help learn to get himself to sleep.  And that goes for both the middle of the night wakings and the initial bedtime.  I've been letting him basically pass out from his sleepiness in my arms or sometimes he falls asleep immediately after the bottle.  I don't think Ferber is for me but I'd like to explore my options, if any.  I wonder if I've waited to late to try anything.
  • Butting in, MrsAO, I do the same thing with LO ".  Most times he goes right back to sleep if I give him the paci, but I'm wondering if I should be doing something to help learn to get himself to sleep.  And that goes for both the middle of the night wakings and the initial bedtime.  I've been letting him basically pass out from his sleepiness in my arms or sometimes he falls asleep immediately after the bottle."  I didnt start a schedule and I wonder if it is going to bite me.
