So, I have a friend who has a 10 month old, and I know that lots of parents when baby is new will have one sit back with baby in the car so that if she cries etc, she can be easily reached. (of course this takes two people). I had never experienced this until living in this area... and I am wondering...
Do you or your DH sit in the back of the car with baby?
How old was baby when you stopped?
Re: Question about baby!
Only on the ride home from the hospital, I sat in the back.
DH or I have sat in the back on rare occasion when EJ is really upset and wants food because us being in the car coincides with mealtime for him or he woke up earlier than expected and is hungry. This has happened like...4 times?
Money Matters The other half's blog.
EJ is growing up too fast!
Do you or your DH sit in the back of the car with baby? There has been a handful of times we have done this.
How old was baby when you stopped? It was never a regular thing
we don't do that except for when we brought her home from the hospital. i sat back w/ her.
Like pp's, I sat in the back on the way home from the hospital. When she still took a bottle, there were maybe 2-3 times that I sat back with her so she could eat because we were on the road when she needed to be fed. It was never a regular thing.
We've done it a handful of times, mostly when she was sick/fussy.
I very rarely sit back w/ G. I never really did it. I rode back home with him from the hospital and that was the only time I felt like I should do it.
If I ride back there, it's because I'm trying to give him milk/water & keep him from spilling it all over the back seat when he's done.

I did this for the ride home from the hospital, and for the first few trips to the pedi's office.
Otherwise, we alternated riding in the back with DS for the first few weeks. I just liked being able to hold his hand and talk to him.
We will still occasionally do it if DS is really cranky.
With C, one of us only rode in the back with him on the way home from the hospital.
A was a preemie and pretty small and her head control wasn't the greatest, so I rode in the back with her until she was about 6 weeks old.
