IFSP Meeting in a couple of hours

DS will be receiving services for speech and OT for his fine motor skills.

Is there anything I should watch for? Anything I should know?

Re: IFSP Meeting in a couple of hours

  • I don't have much advice for the IFSP meeting- just stick with and advocate for what you feel is right.  Speak your opinions and voice your concerns!  :) GL!!

  • Make sure the goals are something that can be measured. If they can't graph it or say yes/no to whether or not he has it in 6 months, it shouldn't be on the IFSP/IEP.

Your opinion/thoughts matter. Don't hesitate to speak your mind.

  • be aware of timelines/deliverables... EI is required by law to respond to IFSP goals and begin services within a certain amount of time (45 days? I can't remember at the moment)... A lot of providers blow off those timelines if you don't hold them accountable. Someone posted a great EI resource for parents with this type of information some time ago, but I didn't bookmark it, unfortunately... it was someone with an ASD kiddo, though- I do remember that.

    Good luck!
