And you would be the one I was referring to as crazy. Call me what you want I don't care. You can throw out your reasons why dogs should be inside and we can throw out our reasons why they should be outside.

...while your dog is suffering outside, at risk of all the dangers of the outdoors. I'd rather have my dog safe on the couch next to me, thanks. I care about him and like having him around. What's the point of having an outdoor dog?

Every single one of your reasons can be found wrong through any behaviorist regardless of what discipline they use to train dogs. Outside dogs are bad. End of story. They always have been, they always will be. Just because its the way you've always done things does not mean that it's right.

let's hear those reasons? I am all about being educated on having pets

Oh please. Do you believe every animal should be inside? A cow, horse, mice? They're the same thing! Animals have been conditioned to be outdoors. The only reason we think any differently now is because of people like you who make them to be what they aren't.
I have never seen so many people proud of making bad decisions in my entire life.
It's astounding.
A more normal response, fyi, would have been - "omg, my ex took my dog" (and yes he sounds like a total @ss and no one is debating that point with her), "I'm so upset, if he had been inside this wouldn't have happened, please learn from my mistake." Not, "he took the dog, he sucks, but I don't see what my actions had to do with that."

Domesticated dogs were bred to be human companions, inside. Logic fail. Give me another.

You know that humans originally lived outdoors and in caves too right?
Ah, so really, you have no argument since you can't debate logically, have no proof, other than dogs are dogs. Which, yes, they are. Good job! You got something right.

I'm also going to fail the "OMG 70 lb labs are too big to be inside."
Previous living situation: Duplex with 4 adults, 1 85 lb lab, and 2 springer spaniels (40 and 55 lbs). Admittedly, it was a bit cramped when MIL and her TWO additional 70 lb labs were over. Inside dogs, every one.
When my lab goes outside to play... he sits at the door waiting for me to join him. Pack animals are meant to stick with the pack, not the garage or outside, banished from the pack.
And not only am I not a single parent, I'm not a parent or parent-to-be yet! *gasp*
Husband has cystic fibrosis. I'm a carrier. We did TESE, IVF, ICSI, and PGD. After two failed IVFs, we were blessed with our twins.

Dogs are dogs, domesticated or not.
No, all dogs have been bred in a domesticated manner. They are no longer capable of fending for themselves outside.
You don't have a dog. There is an animal outside that you feed.

Yes, because a COW is the exact.same.thing. as a dog. You're right.
what does single parenting have to do with animals?! maybe the nest can give you a board where you can debate this.
It doesn't need to be a debate anywhere else, b/c the majority of the Nest AND the Bump are full of responsible pet owners who keep their animals in the house with them. You all are the ones making it seem like single parents=bad pet owners.
LMAO...where did all you people come from.....WELCOME TO THE SINGLE PARENT BOARD...sign in is at the front desk, please see Mary Jane on your way out.......cause these post are drug influenced!!!! LOL
I find it easier to keep my baby outside. She makes more noise than the dogs and interrupts Law & Order WAY too much.
I keep an inch and a half guardrail nut on a loop of 550 cord. It's not whiz-bang tactical, but one smack in the grape and it's coloring books for Christmas.
To the OP, I don't really think your post is funny. I think it's really sad that you are proud of the fact that your dog lives outside. Obviously he/she gets minimal attention, affection, care etc. What kind of example are you setting for your child to learn to be compassionate toward living beings?

Aww ACHASE you got a thumps down, and was told how to raise your kid! God will be proud of you Mrs. Johnson (you tell her how it is girl)!!! LOL

Just because he's outside doesn't mean he doesn't get as much attention as your inside dog does. He sleeps outside. We go on a 1-2 hour walk every day to the park, he has shelter in our garage with heat/ac, and gets food and water 3 times a day. So please tell me where he doesn't get as much attention as your dog does just because he sleeps outside.

I presume you don't live outside too, right? So no, he doesn't get as much attention as an indoor dog. You have deliberately go out and see him. He's not just with you.
