*gigs* how ready are you?

Hi,

I feel like we have done nothing to prepare for #2. This weekend, we finally started clearing out some stuff from the guest room, where we plan to move DD. I was hoping to move her by the end of this month as I expect a rough couple of weeks of adjustment period. No idea if we'll be ready. How are you doing?

She also starts at daycare/preschool in 1mo - for the 1st time ready and that's something I'm anxious about.

We have a large house but are honestly having a really hard time trying to make room! We use our guest room closet to store vacuums (we have 3 including a very large wet vacuum we need b/c of the dogs). I also had a lot of pictures hanging on the walls and I have no idea what to do with them!

are you doing anything else to prepare your DS?

Re: *gigs* how ready are you?

  • Hey!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. :)

My "plan" is to also move DS into a guest room and use his nursery for the new baby.  Although he'll still be in a crib for awhile, I figured I could go ahead and get his toddler room ready for him.  Since the nursery is a pale green, I was just going to buy some new bedding and pictures and call it done (currently, I have a a subtle nautical theme--just pictures and bedding--right now, it looks like DD may just be living with that).

So far, I have nothing done!  I can't find bedding I like for DS, can't decide on a wall color for his room, and as the weeks keep ticking by, I am getting a little nervous.  I also need to go pick up another crib--haven't thought much about that either.

As far as preparing DS, I haven't been doing much.  Luckily, my sister just had a baby (she's 6 weeks old).  My mom watches DS 3 days a week and she just started watching my niece today.  I figure the next 12 weeks with a baby will help.

DS does not start preschool until November, so it is going to be an interesting summer having both kids with me at home!

How are you feeling?  My other "excuse" for not getting anything done is that when I overexert myself, I end up with bad hip pain and braxton hicks.

This pregnancy is sure going by too fast!

  • you are doing a lot more than I am, we are doing no painting at all! I figure when DD is older and has opinions/taste, I'll decorate her room. We are going to put her in a queen-size bed (that's already in the guest room) and buy rails, I have no idea how this will work and am expecting a total disaster and a trip to buy another crib but we'll see!

No BH yet (I did have them last time) but lots of weird movements, different than w/ DD, like the baby is pulsating or something. Overall, it's been a difficult pregnancy and I can't wait to get it over and done with (but then I remember how hard the last few weeks were w/ DD and how having a newborn was 1000 more difficult than anything pregnancy-related!)
