silly vent about Birthdays

N has never had a birthday party and we aren't planning anything for E, either.  It just seems silly since we don't have any family remotely nearby and since we bought our house we haven't met all that many people out here.  I guess we just haven't had time for a social life!  I don't know-we'll have cake as a family or whatever...but I just get so sad, especially since there are so many birthdays coming up here...I wish I could plan a party.

I know they won't remember or care-just me.  That's all...vent over...thanks for listening!

  • DS had a 1st, but for his second we had a new baby in the house, and for his 3rd, no one RSVPed so I cancelled it.

DDs got cancelled because we were all sick.

We made a big deal of our home celebrations. I made pretty elaborate cakes, had balloons and partyware, and let DS blow out candles as many times as he wanted to. LOL

  • We are big on celebrating birthdays and although all of our family was out-of-town when our kids were young, we invited neighbors and friends to share birthdays until our kids were school age. Is that an option?
  • We are in a similiar situation.  For DS's 1st we went "home" and had a big party at my parents.  However for his 2nd and for DD's 1st we did trips.  For DS we went to Sea World, DD we went to Disney.  Very fun both times, something special for them and us, and really about the same cost as having a big party.
