Ok, so Cooper has a busted lip. The bleeding stopped about 2 or 3 minutes after Cooper tripped and fell into the windowsill. His lip has gotten a little puffy but he seemed to be fine after a little bit of love and he had his last bottle ok. We gave him some motrin for any pain he might be having and put him to bed.
I just turned off the a/c so I went in the boys' room to make sure the temp was ok in there. I happened to have my iTouch w/ me so I clicked it on to check out Cooper's face and saw a bit of dried blood on his sheet (he sleeps on his belly with his face all squished up against the bed). Should I worry? When do I worry? Jay says if his lip hadn't stopped bleeding right away like it did, then we would have had to take him to the ER to get a stitch, but with this blood on his sheet, I'm a little concerned.
What do I do now??
Re: anyone with busted lip experience?
How much blood was on the sheet? Luke busted his lip in the tub last week and had a similar experience. It bled for 90 secs or so, and then stopped. He slept fine through the night, but the next morning I noticed a bit of blood on his sheet. Not a lot, but a enough that I easily noticed it when I picked him up. I think he just had a little bit of blood left in his mouth that came out with the drool (he sleeps with his mouth opened and drools a LOT lol).
If it's not much I wouldn't worry about it. But maybe check a time or two before going to bed just to make sure.
yeah, Coop sleeps with his mouth WIDE open and drools quite a bit too. It was about a palm-sized (my palm, not his) bit of brown blood on his sheet. I'll check again, probably a couple of times. Poor baby.
And poor Luke. We've been giving the boys their baths together lately and this afternoon, Cooper came so close to banging his head on the bath faucet, then not an hour later, he busts his lip on the sill. Sigh.
What if it IS a lot?! how do I know what is a lot?
oh, that's a smart thing. I need to remember that I should definitely not give him anything that might sting. Good call.
thanks ladies. I'll just check on him and hope for the best! Jay isn't worried, but I'm a worrywart so it comes naturally for me.

Poor little guy.
I was going to say the same thing as carlinlp. You know when you have really chapped, cracked lips that it's so easy just to smile and reopen that wound. I hope that's all it is.
