Hi-
For those of you did the CVS, how long did you rest afterwards? My DH is taking the day off to watch our 2 yr old, but he has to leave for a work trip in the evening and then I'll be on my own with my son all the next day and night. My CVS is scheduled at 10:30 tomorrow morning. Think I'll be ok by the time I'm on my own with DS? I'm a little nervous about it because my OB said I might want to have some childcare available to me on the day after the test, too... but, unfortunately, that's just not possible. Think I'll be ok?

Re: Recovery/ rest time after CVS?
Hi,
I had a CVS two weeks ago, and honestly, I really felt the need to rest and relax for a couple of days. I didn't have any bleeding or cramping, but I listened to my body, and it was telling me not to push it. If you can get a little extra help, I would do it.

I would highly suggest trying to get some help if at all possible. I was told bed rest for the first 48 hours as this greatly reduces any chance of complications, also no lifting anything over 5 lbs. You are also emotionally drained, it's just kind of a scary thing to go through.
I ended up having on/off bleeding for two weeks (everything turned out fine) but it was scary. I went in for three follow up ultrasounds.
Don't push it, you really need to get help.
I had cvs on friday morning, stayed in bed friday afternoon & I think all day saturday as well. Try to set it up so you can relax on the day after. I rented a lot of DVDs and read books & sought out any distraction to keep my mind occupied, too. Funny movies were the best.
