I feel like super-mom. DH is gone for two weeks so I'm on my own - really alone, like half a world away from all our friends and fam. But so far so good! I'm keeping out days jam-packed and using all the help I can get, paid and otherwise.
On Friday I took both girls to see Dora Live in the city. It was really fun, nobody ran away or got hit by a car, etc. Strollers weren't permitted in, so we drove and parked at the Arts Centre, DD1 walked and DD2 went in the Bjorn, and I wore a small backpack for our stuff.
Then, on Sunday, I took both girls to the beach (it's summer here). Granted, it took about 2 hours to get out the door and we stayed only 2 hours, but it was better than sitting at home, and we actually had a really nice time. I even was able to have one quick swim! Again DD1 walked, and I dragged DD2 in the snap-n-go and loaded it up with all our stuff, then used it for shade once there.
Today I've taken my friend from playgroup up on an offer to have DD1 over for a playdate with her friend, so hopefully that'll give me an hour or so quality time with DD2, who too often is shoved to the back burner because #1 is so demanding.
Just wanted to post to give others hope who are facing the same thing!
