Took a nap in crib...kind of

We have been struggling with LO since day one to sleep or nap in anything besides our arms and in our bed at night.  We have noticed that she falls asleep in her carseat in literally 5 seconds when we go for car rides.  So, today for her nap, we put her in the car seat and then put the car seat in the crib and it worked!  She napped for 3 hours like that.  Whatever works, right!?  We are going to try it when she goes to sleep tonight.  Hey, at least she will start to get used to being in the crib :)  Has anyone else tried this route?

  • congrats! you do what you gotta do sometimes! :) i had to start by rocking DS in my arms until he was asleep and then move him into his basenet. Now he falls asleep in there no problem! it took a week to get like that, but I am sleeping so much better now! :)

  • Our DD's are about the same age and we have the same problem! Mine has currently been in her swing for an hour... still not asleep yet, but so close. I'm just happy she's been in there by herself for that long hoping she'll fall asleep because I'm getting so tired of holding her all the time. haha! We may have to try the carseat thing too! She definitely sleeps in the car easily!

  • Our daughter has slept in her carseat at night for about four weeks, in her crib.  It's the only way she will sleep through the night.  Last night we tried laying her down in her crib on her back and she slept, after a lot of fussing.

How old is your LO?  Thanks!

  • She will be 9 weeks tomorrow.  We were at our wits end and the carseat was our last resort, I think it really helped her digest better as well.  I wouldn't be too concerned with letting her sleep in it, as long as you feel comfortable with it, you have to do what you have to do for both of you to get rest!!
