We are getting ready to let DS start practicing with a sippy cup, but I have no idea what to put in it. Do you start with water, juice, BM? How often do you let your LO practice and how much should the actually drink?
Just water. We give her the cup daily and daycare asked to send a cup so they can start practicing at "snack time". She does not get a snack yet but mid-afternoon they sit them to practice with the sippy cup.
Just water. I give it to her to practice with at her two solid meal times. So far, she doesn't really get it. When she does get any water, she's startled and lets it all run out of her mouth. lol.

Mostly water, sometimes prune juice if he's a bit stopped up. Since he won't do bottles I've been trying to get him to take BM in a sippy just in case. We'll hold off on regular juice as long as possible.

This.
DS gets it during his lunch and dinner. We only put water in it.
We're holding off on juice as long as we can since the nutritional value of it is not great and sugar content is high.
mostly water, sometimes formula
