DD had a febrile seizure

I know some of you may have seen my FB status, so I thought I would update.

We were actually at the urgent care clinic by our house when it happened.  We were waiting to check out and leave. It was terrifying... I know they are fairly common, but it was so scary to see her like that.  I don't know what I would have done if we were at home, or worse, in the car!

We were at the clinic because of her fever, trying to figure out the cause. After her seizure they sent us to Dell, but they didn't want to do any tests or anything, and think it is most likely a virus or some sort.

We are home and DD seems to be doing well.  Her fever is down, but she is wiped out. I"m going to try and find a way to sleep without worrying that it's going to happen again. :)

Re: DD had a febrile seizure

  • ::Hugs:: They are SO scary to see. Having one does mean that she's more likely to have one again, however since she's older, less likely. Clear as mud !?  I hope she feels better soon and that she never ever has one ever again!

  • I'm so sorry, that's terrible.  It's very fortunate you were in that environment.

I hope she continues to do well and that it is just a one-time thing.

  • I'm glad she is doing ok now. I can't imagine how scary that was. Hopefully it will really just be a one time thing and it won't happen again. Sorry you guys had to go through that, but at least you were at the clinic when it happened and there were trained people around to help!
  • How scary!  I hope you were all able to get some sleep and that she is feeling better soon.
