Baby Jogger City Select

Does anyone have this?  I had planned to get the Valco Trimode and the City Mini Double but I don't think a glider board (for an older child, usually over 3, to stand behind the stroller) works with the City Mini.  I also liked that the Baby Jogger is much thinner than the City Mini-- we live in a big city and travel in tight quarters.  I still have to get the Valco Trimode for when the twins are younger and DS is too young to ride on the board but I'd love to be able to use the City Select when all the kids are older.

TIA for any insight.

Re: Baby Jogger City Select

  • I know Goldie has it & loves it!

I have the mini but no toddler so it's not a problem for me. It does fit through standard doorways so that is nice. My issue w/ the select was having to remove the front seat in order to fold it, that seemed like a pain to me.

  • i have the select and love it!  Popping the front seat off is not a big deal- it's VERY easy to do - I do it multiple times a day - and never bothers me.  The fold is so damn fast on that stroller, having to take the seat off is nothing.

I am not sure how the board will work on the select though - i'm beginning to wonder if it's only going to work if it's in single stroller mode --- or if both seats are facing mommy - because otherwise the back seat (facing forward) is right up against the handle bar - and most boogie board situations i've seen, the toddler is sticking his head through the handle bars.... needless to say- i have not used one yet with mine --- Griffin is about to turn 3.... when i need all 3 contained- i use my Valco.  I have gone shopping with all 3 with the Select (just this past week in Target) and Griffin was great about holding on to his "special handle" which is one of those huge mommy hooks I put on the side that is just for him - he stayed with me really well - i was so proud - so i don't know if i'll need a boogie board for this stroller. (i have one for the valco but haven't used it yet).

both the city select and city mini/micro are made by Baby Jogger - just fyi- i got confused above when you were comparing the width for a minute - since they are all BJ strollers :)  it's the worst name b/c none (of those) are joggers! lol

i did not get any of the car seat or bassinet attachments for the Select - since we're out of that stage- but it would be nice to use that stroller frame as a DSNG since it's much shorter than the DSNG - would be so much easier to get around in stores, etc.
